Person-centred therapy is a form of talking therapy where the client is encouraged to take more of a lead when discussing their issues.
The approach can be used to treat a wide range of issues, including: anxiety, low self esteem, relationship problems and addictions.
During this process the therapist listens, without judgement, encouraging and supporting the client through the therapeutic process without interrupting their process of self-discovery.
The therapist will, during the process, help the client clarify their thoughts and feelings, until they have expressed exactly what they are thinking and how they feel.
This will ultimately lead to self acceptance, healing and positive growth.
Psychotherapy covers a wide range of therapies used to treat mental health problems and emotional challenges.
The therapist will help you find better ways to cope, or make changes in the way you think and behave, in order to improve your mental and emotional wellbeing.
Psychotherapy can provide help with a wide range of problems, including: anxiety, depression, lack of self confidence and helping resolve relationship and family disputes.
It can be used in one to one private sessions, with families or in group situations.
Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy using hypnosis to treat psychological and physical problems.
During therapy the client’s focus is directed inwards to help bring about positive changes to their thoughts, feelings and behaviour. The client will often experience a deep state of relaxation during the session.
It is often used to treat: stress, anxiety, phobias, unwanted habits and addictions, weight loss, confidence issues and some physically manifesting conditions e.g. irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
Hypnotherapy often involves only a short course of treatment, with only a few sessions needed to resolve the issue.
NLP or Neuro linguistic programming – is a method of therapy that, in effect, helps you learn and improve on the language of your own mind.
Created by Dr Richard Bandler in the 1970s as a model to help people transform their patterns of thinking and behaviour – so that they experience a happier, more fulfilling life.
NLP therapy works to help change those thoughts and behavior patterns that are not beneficial and are proving a hindrance to your wellbeing.
NLP has been used to treat: anxiety, phobias, low self-esteem, stress, post-traumatic stress disorder, and overall reduced quality of life due to various psychological issues.
